RV Renovation Tour | The Dark & Moody Hygge with Jordan Bowen

I’m so excited to announce that we will now be highlighting RV Renovations on our blog.

Living in an RV ourselves we are always making changes and enjoy looking at other RV renovations for inspiration.

I love the idea of opening up our blog space to highlight these incredible people and their RVs, as well as provide a space for others to come for inspiration.

So, here is our first RV Renovation virtual tour and highlight with Jordan Bowen.

About Jordan | @bowenwiththeflow

Jordan is living the tiny RV life with her little dudes.

She describes her style as Hygge, Dark, and Moody!

If you don’t know what Hygge means, I didn’t either but I’m so glad I do now.

Hygge – A quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feel of contentment or wellbeing. (Danish Culture) Pronounced “huh-guh”

Her RV definitely embodies the very definition of “Hygge” perfectly!

Scrolling through her Instagram feed makes me want to cozy up next to a fire with a cup of hot coffee and a good movie or book.

Before we reveal the amazing after renovation makeover, check out what her RV looked like before.

After Pictures

Now that you’ve seen the before of Jordan’s RV, it’s time to take a look at her cozy RV renovation.

It truly gives you the Hygge feeling as described before.

She has transformed the area by painting her walls white and added a sharpie line for a ship-lap illusion. So creative!

Jordan has also painted her cabinets black and added Tic Tac Tile to her kitchen walls.

The tile was originally white with grey grout, but to stay true to her dark and moody feel she painted those a dark emerald green.

So, check out her RV renovation and GET INSPIRED!!!

Final Thoughts

I absolutely LOVE her RV renovation. It’s earthy, moody, and makes me want to cozy up and watch a movie.

She has truly checked every box in making this RV from a basic camper to a HOME on wheels!

Every detail is well thought out and meticulous to match her style.

RV Wallpaper | So many RVer’s and even home interior designers are embracing a new style and bringing back wallpaper.

For years the idea of wallpaper was a tacky way to decorate because the patterns available were not pleasing.

Well, that was then!

Now, it’s become a great way to add texture, patterns, and character to any space.

Wallpaper has also come a long way with availability to patterns.

Here is some ways you can add wallpaper in your camper to spruce up your campers interior.

Can you use Peel and Stick wallpaper in an RV?

Absolutely, YES!

We used a shiplap peel and stick wallpaper in our RV Bathroom.

Now, the wallpaper we used was white, so we decided to paint the wall ‘white’ before adding the wallpaper.

Just so you know, our walls were beige vinyl before painting them. I noticed when I tried to add the white shiplap wallpaper, the color of the wallpaper become faded. So by painting the wall first, allowing it to dry, then adding the wallpaper allowed the colors to be true.

Tip: Clean your walls before adding the peel and stick wallpaper to ensure the paper sticks and there is no dust.

Quick note: You can also use an extra spray adhesive for an extra stick (if you don’t plan on removing it). Sometimes if you store your RV, the heat could cause the paper to peel. Although this has not happened to me, I have heard of it happening.

Can you wallpaper over the RV wallpaper?

This depends on if your wallpaper is a strip or covers the whole wall. If you have a wallpaper strip, it is best to remove that strip from the wall first. The reason being is so you don’t have any uneven lines in your new wallpaper.

Tip: Make sure your walls are smooth before application of new wallpaper

Does Peel And Stick Wallpaper come off easily?

The simple answer is YES! Compared to traditional wallpaper or paint; peel and stick wallpaper is easy to remove and leaves little to no residue.

Peel and Stick Wallpaper is also a better option because it’s quick and easy to install. Plus, the application and clean up are super easy compared to traditional wallpaper. There is no sticky glue or messy paint to deal with.

How to use Peel and Stick Wallpaper

I feel like using the peel and stick wallpaper is super easy. You just have to make sure you have the right tools in order to keep air bubbles from accumulating under the paper.

You’ll want to get a wallpaper tool kit to help you measure, cut, and smooth it out once you apply it to the walls.

I love using the peel and stick wallpaper because you don’t have to deal with the sticky and messy glue.

Applying the peel and stick wallpaper is easy!

  1. Measure the piece of wall
  2. Measure the paper
  3. Cut accordingly
  4. Peel off the backing
  5. Stick on the wall slowly while applying pressure from the smoothing tool to release the air bubbles.

7 Adorable RV Nursery Makeovers You Will LOVE

7 Adorable RV Nursery Makeovers You Will LOVE

RV Nursery Makeovers are so inspirational, especially if you’re expecting a child or have children already.

Who doesn’t love a great before and after with gorgeous decor?

During my journey in deciding how we were going to rearrange our RV to add in all the baby stuff, I found myself searching to see what others had done.

You see, when you live in an RV and bring a baby on board, you have to get creative in ways you may not have been before.

Through my search, I fell in love with these gorgeous RV Nursery Makeovers and I am positive you will too!

This first RV Nursery Makeover is by Alexis Walls. Her and her husband have two adorable little boys that share their remodeled space. They were able to fit a toddler bed, crib, and dresser which holds all the boys clothes, blankets, and more.

What a great renovation and use of space. You can check out their full remodeled RV on their Instagram @thetinywallsfamily

This gorgeous second RV Nursery Makeover is by Victoria Kepley. Her Instagram handle is @joyinthej0urney. They live fulltime in their fifth wheel with their baby boy and 2 pups.

I love the use of the space, and choice of the mini furniture like the crib called the Babyletto Origami Mini Portable crib. You can check out more useful baby furniture that is great for RV living here on my post “Must Have Baby Items for Your RV”

I love this next remodel! It is such a creative way to add space for your little one if you don’t have a bunkhouse or extra room in your RV. As you can see in the Before, they took out the chairs and replaced it with the beautiful dresser, baby bassinet, and bouncer.

This remodel is by Dee and Nate who live with their 2 dogs, 2 cats, and their baby girl. You can see more of their RV remodel by following them on Instagram @thejollyrogercrew.

Check out this gorgeous Boho Inspired Nursery. It is a dream baby space. As you can see they were able to fit a dresser, crib, and changing pad into their remodeled space.

The RV Nursery Remodel is done by Jessica who lives in SoCal. You can check out more of her RV remodel on her Instagram @jessij03

What a beautiful girl nursery makeover by Presley. She lives in her RV with her husband, 2 dogs, and baby girl.

I love the pink and bright natural aspects of the space. You can follow them and check out their full remodel @presgossett.

This Beautiful nursery remodel was done by Sydney with a little help from @theflippingnomad. They actually took the doors off their closet in their bedroom, and converted it into their tiny nursery.

What a genius idea and great use of space. Sydney lives full time in her RV with her husband, 2 dogs, and baby boy. You can follow her on Instagram @swannofakind.

This next nursery remodel is actually not in an RV but in a Bus that was renovated by Ian and Hannah. They live in Florida with their little girl and baby boy (on the way).

During their conversion, they made sure to add a nook for their daughter, and what a beautiful little nook it is!

If you would like to see more on their bus conversion, you can follow them on Instagram @hanzian_bus.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these beautiful RV Nursery Makeovers and gathered some inspiration as well. If you plan on remodeling a space in your Tiny House, Bus, or RV and would like to be featured on our Blog, please visit our Work With Us page!
