We have some exciting news to share…..

We are expecting our first little bundle of joy due this October!

These last few months have been difficult to focus on blogging, writing, and pretty much anything else but sleep. I am currently now in my second trimester but the first was a little difficult. All I wanted to do was sleep and did everything I could to keep the nausea away.

I am now in week 14 of pregnancy and I finally feel like myself again, just a with a little more belly. I’m growing every day and I imagine every day what our baby will look like. It’s such an exciting time, but it has also pushed back our abilities to pay off our debt and travel.

With babies and pregnancy comes a lot of appointments, therefore we will be stationary for another year here in Texas. I can’t complain! We are surrounded by our loving family that is so willing to be there and help with anything we need.

On to blogging and goals….. now that I feel like myself again I have to put more focus on writing. With that being said I will be adding another category on “Camping”. I have been camping since I was just a few months old. I don’t remember, of course, but there are great pictures of my dad feeding me by the campfire.

Camping has been a huge part of my life and I really want to share my experiences along with Living in an RV.

So let’s discuss this months goal. As you can see I switched up the title a little bit because focusing on paying off our debt has been placed on the back burner. So now I will turn my focus on my blog and writing.

banner 250x250 - May 2019 Goals: Blogging, Writing, and More
May 2019 Goals:
Goal 1: Post a new quality blog at least once a week

I really want to post more than once a week, however, from my past, it tends to stress me out with work and other things life throws at you. Therefore, posting once a week is a good goal.

I did have it set to post on Tuesday’s, however, that stressed me out. It felt like I was back in school and there was always this deadline. The deadline almost made me love my enthusiasm for blogging altogether.

I enjoy blogging, writing, and being creative, but not when I feel forced. So I don’t have a set date in which I will post, but more when I feel like it! I want to blog to be fun and enjoyable!

Goal 2: Social Media

Social media in any business or blog these days are a necessity. For Blogging, I know Pinterest is highly recommended and needed to gain traffic. So I will focus heavily on Pinterest and utilizing Tailwind to schedule my posts.

I also am apart of an amazing group on Facebook of fellow bloggers that I intend to utilize heavily for traffic and comments.

Goal 3: Research the best ways to promote a blog

If you want to get anywhere in life, you have to promote yourself, your business, or in my case my blog. I know there are other platforms to promote new posts too, but I haven’t done very extensive research. I will research and find the best couple sources to post new blogs that will be beneficial to m niche.

Goal 4: Blog Views Sessions

Since I slowed down on writing the last two months due to the pregnancy, my traffic on my blog has decreased. I stopped writing as much, I stopped my Pinterest strategy and stopped using tailwind and Facebook to gain traffic. I saw my traffic drop, therefore, what I was doing was working. So hopefully this month things will turn back around!

The month of March is complete! I can’t believe how quickly this year is going by. I am a little late on posting this but a lot has been going on. Some exciting news, but not ready to share quite yet!

Let’s get right to it and recap my goals for the month of March! I can already say, it didn’t go as planned and that’s okay! We all have hiccups in life and it takes some time to get back on track. I’m hoping April will be that month!

My goals for March were:

  1. Post a New Quality Blog once a week
  2. Workout 3x a week
  3. Social Media: Pinterest (Gain 100 More followers and create a pinning strategy)
  4. Blog View (Average 180 – 250 Sessions a day)

Let’s dissect the first goal I had in March of posting one quality post a week. Unfortunately, the month of March I failed at this. It was almost like my creative juices ran dry and I just had no motivation to write. I did post a great article called Travel Trailers Overview: A guide for beginners! Although I didn’t post much, I am satisfied with the one I did post!

On to my fitness goal of working out 3x a week! This I did not complete! I am still doing yoga which is helping me gain my strength back up as well as flexibility. I also started to walk more as long as I was feeling up to it!

banner 250x250 - April 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life and More!

My third goal regarding Social Media was all about Pinterest. The goal was to gain 100 more followers and continue to refine a pinning strategy. I started with 379 followers and I am happy to announce that I now have 463 followers, and averaging 108k Monthly viewers. This goal was almost completed! I still hope to continue to grow my Pinterest.

The Final goal I had was my blog/website views/sessions. I averaged around 80 to 150 a day, and unfortunately, this is still average. Unfortunetly, this goal was not met either! My blogging traffic has actually went down. I know it is because I failed on my pinterest strategy and I did not write very many posts this month. I still get traffic, but it’s not increasing.

This month I realized how important it is to keep up with writing new content, posting and engaging on Facebook Groups and Pinterest. Keeping these in my blogging strategy and posting consistently is key to gaining traffic to my blog.

April 2019 Goals:
Goal 1: Post a new quality blog at least once a week

I am hoping that this month of April I can get back on track and crush this goal! Motivation, motivation, motivation!!

Goal 2: Work out 3x times a week.

This is one very important right now! Working out is going to be very beneficial for me and I am hoping to actually work out 4 to 5 times a week for atleast 30 – 40 minutes.

Goal 3: Social Media

I am keeping my Pinterest goal for April. I know how important this platform is for bloggers to gain traffic, especially with seeing my number decrease after not completing this goal. I would still like to gain another 100 more followers on Pinterest and continue to refine a better strategy for pinning.

I will still continue to use Tailwind, and develop a greater pinning strategy using their software.

Goal 4: Blog Views Sessions

With Google Analytics I will continue to check on my views and sessions per day, as well as, begin to look at my weekly and monthly sessions. I did notice that my session on a monthly average is increasing.

For December (when I signed up for Google Analytics) I had 1.9K sessions. For January, I had 2.5K sessions and for February I had 3.1K sessions. I failed for the month of March and ended the month with only 2.7K sessions.

Therefore, I am needing to focus on my pinning strategy. This will help bring up the blog traffic.

So, I am going to set a monthly goal for April at 3.5K sessions on my blog.

Goals for our DEBT FREE JOURNEY!

Currently, we are still sitting at Two Credit Cards, 1 personal loan, 1 large student loan, RV loan, and a truck loan averaging about $95K in debt. As much as we want to pay things off, a huge life event has halted that ability for us. It’s life and things happen! We are excited about this year and what is to come. Although we are not able to pay off things quickly as we have planned, we are still saving money and living as frugal as can be.

I am excited about April! As I am writing this post, I am enjoying the amazing 75 degree weather here in Texas. The trees and flowers are blooming, and being able to work outside is a blessing on days like today. I am hopeful that I will get back on track and crush my goals for April!

The Month of February is complete, so now it is time to recap on my monthly goals and set new ones for March!

My goals for February came with a greater understanding of what I can handle with my full-time job and overall busy life.

Good thing is, I did not get sick in February as I did in January. Therefore, obtaining my goals was a little easier. Let’s recap on February’s goals;

My goals for February were:

  1. Post a New Quality Blog once a week
  2. Workout 3x a week
  3. Paint the RV Bathroom
  4. Social Media: Pinterest (Gain 100 More followers and create a pinning strategy)
  5. Blog View (Average 180 – 250 Sessions a day)

Let’s dissect the first goal I had in February of posting one quality post a week. I am happy to say that I crushed this goal! I am very satisfied with the content that was published. With working Full-time, I felt more at ease posting and writing one blog a week. It allowed me more time to really focus and write quality posts.

On to my fitness goal of working out 3x a week! This I completed! I started doing more yoga which has helped gain my strength back up as well as flexibility. Yoga 3x a week is easier than jumping into P90x or Insanity right now. I also started to recognize the pain in my left shoulder and hip has become easier to manage and most days there is no pain. Yoga is really benefiting me!

Painting the Bathroom! YEP! I did it! First I placed the TiC TAC Tile as the backsplash behind the sink, then taped and painted! So happy with the results!

banner 250x250 - March 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life and More!

My third goal regarding Social Media was all about Pinterest. First I realized that Pinterest is not actually ‘social media’, but more of a search engine. The goal was to gain 100 more followers and develop a pinning strategy. I started with 210 followers and I am happy to announce that I now have 379 followers, and averaging 150k Monthly viewers. This goal was completed! I hope to continue to grow my Pinterest.

The Final goal I had was my blog/website views/sessions. I averaged around 80 to 150 a day, and unfortunately, this is still average. I’m glad I am getting so many views, but I would still like to see more. My goal was to get to 180 to 250 average.

However, I have come to realize that my views will grow with each blog post. It also has a lot to do with Pinterest and the images I create for each blog post. Almost 95% of my traffic comes from Pinterest. I am happy to say that I did have one Saturday in February where my views reached over 600 in one day. That was very exciting for me.

March 2019 Goals:
Goal 1: Post a new quality blog at least once a week

Posting 1 new piece of content a week served me really well in February. It helped me get into a writing groove that I am still trying to perfect. Therefore, I will keep this goal for March.

Goal 2: Work out 3x times a week.

Again, I am choosing to keep this goal because February was a good month and working out 3x a week was doable. I am also loving the Yoga and I am going to continue building strength and flexibility. Plus, it is helping me manage my sports injuries in my left shoulder and left hip.

Goal 3: Social Media

I am keeping my Pinterest goal for March. Since this platform is so important for bloggers, I want to continue to learn everything about it. I would like to gain another 100 more followers on Pinterest and continue to develop a better strategy for pinning. Right now, I have 379 followers on Pinterest and an average 150K monthly viewers.

I have read that Pinterest can sometimes act like a moody teenager meaning the views on pins and profiles can really change drastically. So far February was really consistent, so I am hoping the March will remain the same with just a consistent growth.

I am also a member of Tailwind, so I will continue to use this software to pin on Pinterest.

Therefore, I am growing on the monthly count and maybe looking at Daily counts are not the best to see my blog’s growth.

So, I am going to set a monthly goal for March at 3.5K sessions on my blog.

There you have it! February was a good month and I’m looking forward to March. Due to February’s success, I’m more motivated than ever.

Goals for our DEBT FREE JOURNEY!

Currently, we are sitting at Two Credit Cards, 1 personal loan, 1 large student loan, RV loan, and a truck loan averaging about $95K in debt. After our budgeting and working out our finances about mid-February, we are on track to have the 1 credit card, and the personal loan to be completely paid off by the end of July 2019. That is huge!

I am excited about March! The goals I have are attainable and of course, this month is when things start to warm up here in Texas. I love the warm weather! It gets me going and keeps me motivated when the temperatures outside are comfortable!

Comment below, what are your goals for this month? Whether it’s for your blog, business, or lifelike physical fitness or finances! I would love to know and cheer you on!

February 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life and More!

RV Travel Lifestyle Blog 1 - February 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life and More!

It’s that time! Setting up my goals for the month of February 2019. But first, let’s recap on January’s goals.

My goals for January came with a lot of motivation and an attitude of “I can do this”. However, I didn’t count on being sick for almost half the month with sinus issues. So, some goals I did have set just didn’t happen.

My goals for January were:

  1. Post a new blog twice a week
  2. Workout 3x a week
  3. Finish Painting the Bedroom and Bathroom in the RV
  4. Pay Off Debt

Let’s dissect the first goal I had in January. As a new blogger, I am still learning a lot about the blogging world and have found with a full-time job that this goal was a big one. However, that didn’t stop me from posting 6 new articles. Not the 8 I had hoped for, but it is still a great accomplishment. So, I’m not too upset!

Also, through some research, I have found that it is better to post less and have quality content. I am all about quality content over quantity! I want my blog to be a place of useful information that others can use.

On to my fitness goal. Since I was sick with sinus issues because the weather here in North Texas doesn’t know if it’s winter or spring most days, it put me out. Although I didn’t reach the 3 times week goal, I did do at least 2 times so that isn’t a total fail.

banner 250x250 - February 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life and More!

Can we skip goal number 3 of painting the bedroom and bathroom in the RV? Because it totally did not happen! Again, probably because I just wasn’t feeling well.

On to the goal number 4! Pay off Debt. Now, this goal I crushed! On January 25th, I completely paid off a loan that I had taken out about 8 years ago. I paid that remaining balance off and it feels amazing!

So, while I didn’t crush them all, I do still believe the goals were attainable just life happens and being sick is no fun.

Goals for February 2019

Goal 1: Post a new quality blog at least once a week.

After realizing that posting twice a week was a little too much with my work schedule, I have decided to tone it down and focus more on quality posts.

I would also like to do a product review once a month. Living this great RV life and blogging, there are some amazing products that you have to have and some that are just great for educational purposes. Product review posts are always so helpful when you’re trying to figure out if something is worth trying, so why not review the items or services we have used and purchased that have benefited us.

Goal 2: Work out 3x times a week.

I am choosing to keep this goal because I know I can do better then I did last month. I am also getting more into doing Yoga and started actually started a free 14-day trial with MyYogaWorks to try it out to gain strength, balance, and flexibility.

Goal 3: Paint the Bathroom in the RV.

I’m going to push back the bedroom and focus on one area this month to complete. I have the paint and the TIC TAC Tile from Amazon already, I just have to muster up the motivation to get it done! February will be that month! No more sickness!

Goal 4: Social Media

Since social media is so important for a blog, especially Pinterest, I really want to learn and focus on that platform. I would like to gain 100 more followers on Pinterest and develop a strategy of posting. Right now, I have 210 followers on Pinterest.

I am also a member of Tailwind, which is a software that allows you to schedule posts for Pinterest and other Social Media sites. I am hoping this will help me save time and develop a posting schedule to increase follower and views.

Goal 5: Blog Views.

I have Google Analytics to see my views and sessions every day. If you don’t have it, I highly recommend getting it. By using Google Analytics, I am pleased to see it grow every time I publish a new blog post.

So far, I started the month of January with an average of around 50 views/sessions. Now, averaging 80 to 140 views/sessions. I would love to grow that number to average 180 to 250 views/sessions a day by the end of February.

There you have it! January was a good month but could have been better. February is going to be a great and I’m more motivated then ever. Also, this month I will begin to really focus on paying off my credit card. Right now, I am scheduled to have it paid off by July of this year.

I feel like these goals are more attainable. We will see! So, let’s Crush this month of February!

Comment below, what are you goals for this month? Whether it’s for your blog, business, or life like physical fitness or finances! I would love to know and cheer you on!

January 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life & more!

RV Travel Lifestyle Blog 1 - January 2019 Goals: Our Journey to a Debt Free Life & more!

It’s a new year and everyone is posting about their new year goals and resolutions. Setting goals and writing them down is an amazing stepping stone to accomplishing them.

I have always been a goal getter, so resolutions are a year-round thing for me! Transitioning our life into an RV, becoming debt free, and starting this blog has been a whirlwind of goals!

Interested in why we chose to live in an RV, check it out here (after you read this, of course)!

So, each month, starting January 2019, I thought I would share what my monthly goals are. I also wanted to share, with raw honesty, what it is really like living in an RV while working on this blog and striving toward our debt free goal. I’m talking about all of the ups and downs! Plus, I feel like posting my goals holds me even more accountable. Right?

Let’s begin by breaking down my goals for January 2019!

Goal 1: Post a new blog twice a week!

That is about 8 blog posts a month. Honestly with a full-time job that is a lot for me, but I’m up for the challenge! I am also still finding my writing style while working on the grammar side of things. I have always been the type that just writes what I think in a casual conversation style. Not necessarily with proper sentence structure or punctuation, but I am learning to slow down and not rush my thoughts!

My sister in Law whose favorite subject was English has been my editor on almost everything I’ve written. She jokes with me about how I can actually write down what I am thinking, something she sometimes struggles doing, and that she just makes it proper. Thank goodness for family! 😉

Goal 2: Workout 3x a week!

Okay, so I have always been the athletic type. I played softball and volleyball in school, along with gym time, and Beachbody workouts. However, since attending college, and working a full-time job, getting to the gym or even doing a home workout has been challenging. I don’t have a gym membership, so my workouts will either be outside or something I can watch from YouTube, Amazon or our insanity/ P90x DVD’s sets.

Goal 3: Finish painting the Bedroom and Bathroom in the RV.

We have painted the living area and hallway as well as replaced the curtains and tiled the kitchen. We absolutely love our progress so far, but the renovations are not complete. I am ready to get it done! Want to see our renovations so far? Follow us on Instagram!

Goal 4: Pay off debt!

Total we are about $100,000 in debt with credit cards, student loans, personal loans and of course our RV and Truck. Our goal is to tackle the smallest ones first and knock out the 2 credit cards we have.

For now, there is one personal loan that I have budgeted to pay off this month. I owe about $950 on a personal loan that I took out about 8 years ago. It’s been a long time and I’m ready to get rid of it! January is that month! If it wasn’t for my budgeting, I would not be able to tackle this goal. That is why I wrote a post on why creating a budget is so important! It has helped me stay on top of our finances!

That’s it! I know it may seem like 4 goals isn’t much…. but I feel like they are big goals. One thing I don’t want to do is overwhelm myself.

I learned that lesson the hard way. When I was in college, taking a full schedule, I also worked a full-time job, AND a part-time job. Looking back, what was I thinking?! I was getting 4 hours of sleep at night and those three months of busyness taught me my limits. I recognized how important it is to take care of myself and not become overwhelmed.

So here we are 8 days into January 2019, and this is my 2nd post this month. 2 down, 6 more to go to hit my goal! If you missed my first one this year it was all about our downsizing journey! You can read it here!

With all the goals I just shared and posted for the world to see, you might be wondering how I plan on accomplishing all these goals, how do I stay on track?

I have learned that I work well with a planner! I have a monthly planner that I write everything in! It helps me keep things organized and on track. I also have an excel spreadsheet that I use specifically for my budget and blog posts. Each month I schedule everything out! Maybe I will eventually share my planner, but that’s for another time!

Thank you for reading and following me on this journey! If I can accomplish these goals, then I have no doubt that you can set and accomplish whatever you want too! Here is one of my favorite quotes for motivation;

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – Napoleon Hill

If you have set some goals for this year I would love to read them! Please comment below or send me a link to your post!
